Group requests immediate action by Secretary of State to ensure integrity of our elections
Today Minnesota Majority delivered a
letter to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie asking him to immediately respond to the findings of an analysis of the voter file recently completed by the organization. The analysis identified many inconsistent and suspicious records within the file, including thousands of voters over 100 years of age and thousands of voters residing at vacant addresses. “The findings of our analysis raise serious concerns about the integrity of Minnesota’s voter file,” said Jeff Davis, President of Minnesota Majority. “While there may be plausible explanations for some or all the apparent inconsistencies, we believe our findings warrant a complete and comprehensive verification of voter records.”
The findings of this analysis come at a time of voter registration improprieties across the nation. Last week U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must perform verification required by the Help America Vote Act. That includes matching new registrants' information against information in databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.
A copy of the letter to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie together with the findings of the analysis project are available online at
