Coming up in Pine County (that's up north in the 8th Congressional District) is a fantastic event for conservatives. If you live in the area, have a cabin up there, or just want to take a scenic road trip to the nicer part of the state, be at this event.
Saturday, September 15th at the Pine City Country Club from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, for $35.00 guests will be treated to a delicious dinner, and be regaled with speakers: Jason Lewis (The KTL

Tomorow, the State Central Committee of the Minnesota Republican Party will meet to elect it's leadership for the next two years. As a delegate to the meeting, I will be voting for change. I'm backing Joe Repya for party chairman. Some of my reasons are belief that Repya has the moxy to get out and whip up the grassroots, and reenergize the party; He has demonstated true leadership in the past - leading by example, and getting his hands dirty, not shying away from hard (or even dangerous) wor

Saturday, I attended the 5th Congressional District Convention as a seated alternate. Both Joe Repya and Ron Carey spoke, making their respective cases for why they should be elected state party chair. I wasn't absolutely certain where my vote (I am a State Central delegate) would go, but I was leaning heavily towards Repya. After hearing "GOP Joe's" electrifying, optimistic speech, and then Carey's usual excuses, I was sold 100%. Been there, done that... got the T-Shirt (literally - It's a v

Ron Carey has at least one challenger for his state GOP chairmanship. Retired Colonel Joe Repya (of "Liberate Iraq - Support Our Troops" sign fame) has thrown his hat into the ring. I'm a newly elected State Central Committee delegate, and here's part of the reason I am keenly interested in hearing what Repya offers the party. I don't yet know if Repya will make a better chair than Ron Carey, but I certainly have my concerns about the current chair, and the executive committee as a whole, for

This isn't a new story, but it's one that's been eating me alive since I first heard it proposed. Our state senators who earn around $2,000 for each day that the legislature is in session have been suffering with a measley $66 per day meal per diem. In a secret vote, they raised that meal allowance to just about a hundred bucks a day.
I'm a working stiff. On a

The Minnesota House of Representatives’ Commerce and Jobs Committee solicited public input on the proposed statewide smoking ban bill in the form of an online poll. The results of the poll revealed a 50-50 split on whether there should be a statewide smoking b
